about

My tribute to those who fought and died in the many conflicts Australia has been a part of. And to those who lost loved ones in these same conflicts. - LEST WE FORGET !!!!!

lyrics

Verse 1 :
Do you remember Gallipoli?
Do you remember the Somme?
The Battle of Britain, Where the landscape was smitten,
These are places where we've come from.
But we've learnt to let go of the pain,
And we'll never extinguish the Flame.

Chorus :
Lest We Forget,
All the lives that were laid to rest.
Filled with regret.
All the memories of loved ones,
That sad place we've come from,
Their lives were not lost in vain,
Lest we forget their names.

Verse 2 :
The Flame burns 24 / 7, To remind us still living,
Of the casualties lost at war.
When they were asked, They equalled the task,
Answered the Call, gave their all.
Australia's proud legacy,
Giving their all overseas.

Bridge :
The Charge at Beersheba, The Rats of Tobruk,
The prisoners of Changi that died.
Vietnam and Burma, Korea, Japan.
A list of places so long makes me cry.
But the Anzac Spirit still lives on today,
Alive in each one of us, forever to stay.
And as I look at the faces, And remember the places,
Together now we all say....
